VAT invoice generator

Mixed VAT rates, discounts and foreign currencies — calculated the way tax authorities expect, down to the cent.

A VAT breakdown that adds up

Each line carries its own VAT rate. The invoice groups lines by rate and shows the taxable amount and the VAT for each one, with VAT rounded once per rate — the method used by the EU e-invoicing standard (EN 16931). Discounts on the total are spread across the rates in proportion, before tax, so the VAT stays correct.

Built-in VAT rates

Standard and reduced rates for all 27 EU countries, the UK, Switzerland, Norway and others are pre-loaded and can be edited in Settings. Each rate also has a category — standard, zero-rated, exempt, reverse charge, intra-EU supply or export — which adds the right legal wording to the invoice.

Invoicing in a foreign currency

EU rules require the VAT to also be shown in your national currency when you invoice in another one. Pick the currency, enter the exchange rate, and the converted VAT is printed under the totals.

Private by design

There is no account and no server behind this invoice generator. Your business details, clients, products and invoices are stored in your browser's own database (IndexedDB) and never uploaded. The PDF is built on your device. That also means nobody else has a copy — download a backup from Settings → Backup now and then, and keep it with your accounting files.

Frequently asked questions

Can prices include VAT?

Yes. Switch Prices to “Including tax” and the tool works out the net amount and VAT per rate from the gross prices.

Per-line or per-invoice rounding?

By default VAT is rounded once per rate, which matches the EU standard. Both methods are supported internally, and amounts always reconcile to the total.
